Why I Began Wrthit
Do you know why I began Wrthit?
For most of my life, I downplayed my abilities and really struggled to understand my worth in this world. I thought I was being humble and that by somehow by shrinking myself down, I was allowing others to have space to shine.
This could not be further from the truth.
In fact, by not acknowledging my value in this world, I did a disservice to all the people I was meant to serve. In fact, I remember one of my dear friends, and weekly clients telling me many years ago, “you need to raise your prices!”. But even then, it took going through a pandemic to really cause me to dig deep and discover what I really wanted out of life, not just in my career, but the bigger picture. I also realized that I personally knew so many brilliantly talented, amazing women that struggled with knowing their worth, as well.
“What about Wrthit?”
These were my husband’s words to me when I had finally had a clear vision of what I wanted to offer and why. He had listened to me on countless occasions telling him how the detailed, compassionate, result-oriented work that I do is “worth it”. He also thought that spelling it without the “o” would stand out more. And low and behold, Wrthit.com was available on the domain search!
But my story didn’t stop there.
How in the world could I call myself Wrthit when I am still struggling to believe it? It felt obnoxious, uncomfortable, and not what anyone would name a mobile massage business! My friend, it was in that moment that I knew that was exactly why I needed to do it! My mission became even clearer. This wasn’t just about me squirming out of my comfort zone.
I was called to encourage and remind all women of their worth.
But the question was how did I want to do this? Although I love all types of bodywork, I knew I needed to get specific and find my niche. If you you know me, you know I want to do “all the things” and serve everyone (which don’t worry, a large part of my practice is still customized sports massage!). It was then that I realized, if my business would be women-focused, what was an area of massage therapy that really lacked professional care?
Post Surgery Lymphatic Drainage Massage
I was so tired of seeing women hurt during their post-op care by others claiming to be experts in post-surgery lymphatic. With the lack of regulation in the field of massage therapy, specifically in California, it’s like the wild west out there. So, I went for it. I updated my education to current post-op standards, became certified in Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Post Surgery Lymphatic Drainage, and recertified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Technique). This completely refreshed my skillset and gave me the confidence and current knowledge I needed to not only help vivacious women recover after cosmetic surgery, but also remind them of their worth along the way❤️
One more thing
Giving back to my community is something I knew needed to be a part of my business model. Throughout my career, I have volunteered working with cancer patients and their families. When I discovered Michelle’s Place, a cancer resource center in Temecula, I knew that was where I needed to be. I give my time once a month providing massage and lymphatic massage for those on their cancer journey. To be able to hold space, give encouragement, and just remind them that they are not alone is such a blessing and an opportunity that I am so grateful for.
It is my hope that this journey would inspire you, remind you that you are worthy of following your dreams, and encourage you to celebrate the beautiful gifts that you uniquely bring into this world❤️
Always remember, you are beautiful, you are loved, and you
are worth taking care of.
You're Wrthit ❤️
